Taste Buds

Ok well since I have a few posts to catch up on I figured I would do a couple in a row right now. My first one is about taste buds and how they change over the years. My parents always told me when I was little "someday your going to love these" or something like "I use to love those when I was a kid". I never really understood what they meant, and thought it was just another one of their "I had to walk to school when there was 3 feet of snow of the ground" kind of stories. But I realized they were right. Your tastes bud definitely do adjust as you get older. When I was little my babysitter use to drown us in tomato soup and grilled cheese. Not literally, but that's what we had for lunch every single day. So when I got to the age of maybe 7 or 8 I hated that meal. But throughout the past two years or so it's become one of my favorite meals. Another thing is I've always hated cotton candy. Even when I was little I use to hate the smell of it when Nicole would eat it. But now I love it, not the cotton candy as much as the artificial flavored cotton candy things like ice cream and Popsicles. And last but not least, I wouldn't even dare to eat peas if my life depended on it. But Kathleen can attest to this, St Joe's had the best peas ever. So from 7th grade on they've been my favorite side dish! So my conclusion is that your tastes buds change with your age. So maybe that leaves hope for meat sauce, anything made in a crock pot, or meatloaf, because I really don't see myself liking those things anytime soon!
