Physical Educatorsss

I don't mind physical education. I think the activities are pretty well diverse. There's dance, swimming, and fitness, it's pretty well-rounded. However, I think this new rumor that gym class is going to be graded by how well you perform rather than you effort is bull. I don't think thats right. If their going to do that then they need to split the gym classes up by athletes and non athletes, or something of that sort. The problem with physical education is the educators. All of them or not bad, some of them are actually really good teachers and deserve respect and cooperation. Others however, which I will remain nameless, set themselves up to be disrespected and ignored. If you treat students like their less of a person because they ask a question that you might think is a stupid question, or if you judge them by what sport they play or how well they play, then you shouldn't be allowed to teach teenagers that are going through what's suppose to be four years of learning about themselves and figuring out what they want to do in life.

richelle, i usually love to disagree with you, but i suppose i must agree. Its not about how well you perform(though my team's performance in volleyball was 30x greater than yours) but its if you change and have the correct attitude. Not everyone is going to be great at everything.

Our gym class and teachers at ue blow major. and fitness friday...what a joke. lets actually do something that involves getting fit. Seated volleyball is not in that category.

I agree. Suddenly the gym teachers got really hardcore this year. Everyone knows that no one cares about gym. It's a joke. You are not going to get fit by having gym every other day for like 30 min. The teachers act like they are really into their job, but they aren't. I have 9th period gym and even the teachers show up 10 min late everyday and then just stand around and talk. They don't want to be there just as much as we don't want to be there. And thennn there are those days we just sit there. What is that?? Other teachers don't get to have a day to just relax between units, so why should they? If they want us to take their class seriosuly maybe they should take their own jov seriously.
